SEVENFRIDAY X DGR

MEN, MOTORBIKES AND MOUSTACHES

On Sunday the 27th of September, the SEVENFRIDAY team donned our finest threads and motored along to take part in the 2015 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride raising money to help find a cure for prostate cancer.

Why? Because over 1,300 men a day die of prostate cancer worldwide, and that’s something we want to help stop.

Founded in Australia, the first Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride took place in 2012, attracting 2,500 different riders across 64 cities. The success of this event encouraged the founders to consider how it could be used to support a worthy cause. And the rest, as they say, is elegantly attired history.

"Dapper for a cause"

The Gentleman's Ride

In 2013, over 11,000 participants in 145 cities around the world raised over $277,000 for prostate cancer research. These numbers grew in 2014 and this year (2015) they had over 37,000 participants riding in over 400 different cities and have to date raised over $2.3 million to help find a cure for prostate cancer.

Riding through Zurich with 100 other well-heeled gentlemen was quite a sight! All sorts of different bikes were there from vintage cafe racers all the way through to modern day sports bikes.

The Gentleman’s Ride tagline ‘Dapper for a cause’ is something that resonates with SEVENFRIDAY so we were happy to offer an engraved SEVENFRIDAY M2/01 for the best dressed gentleman on the day. This was won by the very dapper Konstantin Struck riding his modern vintage Triumph. Also we would like to thank our friends to support our ride with over 6000 usd in donations ! For more information on this brilliant cause, take a look at the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride website. We’re looking forward to the 2016 ride already.
